Working With a Clinical Intern
At With A Child’s Heart Behavioral Health Center, we are proud to be a clinical training site for graduate-level interns who are completing their master’s degrees in counseling, social work, or related mental health fields. These interns are in the final stages of their academic programs and are gaining the real-world experience required for graduation and future licensure.
While interns are not yet licensed, they work under the direct supervision of Mikah Miller, LPC, CPCS, the owner and clinical director of our practice, as well as a faculty supervisor assigned by their university. This dual-supervision model ensures each intern is supported by both academic and clinical teams, with regular oversight, feedback, and case consultation to maintain a high standard of care.
Choosing to work with an intern offers several unique benefits:
We remain deeply committed to compassionate, culturally competent, and high-quality care—whether your provider is fully licensed, under supervision, or completing internship hours.

Choosing to work with an intern offers several unique benefits:
- Affordability: Interns are able to offer services at a reduced rate or sliding scale, making therapy more accessible for individuals and families who may not otherwise be able to afford it.
- Collaboration: Interns receive collaborative support from an entire treatment team, meaning your care is informed by multiple experienced professionals.
- Fresh perspective: Interns are trained in the most current, research-informed practices and bring enthusiasm and deep commitment to the therapeutic process.
