I am a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor under the direct supervision of Mikah Miller. I earned my bachelor’s in psychology and Business from Oglethorpe University and a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling in University of North Georgia. I have also studied abroad to South Korea and Japan to further my education in counseling working and utilizing evidence-based interventions.
I have advanced training in working with teenagers and adults who have concerns with anxiety, sexuality, perfectionism, acceptance & self-worth, emotional trauma, alcohol addiction recovery, “adulting”, school stress, relationships & dating, and stress management. I work with both individuals as well as couples who may be poly or monogamous.
My therapeutic style would best be described as eclectic, as I enjoy combining traditional modalities and interventions with creative and unique techniques to best fit your needs and concerns. I have a background in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy), Gestalt, DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and narrative therapy. I come from a place of empowerment to help you live a life worth living from an unconditional space. I have an intersectional clinical perspective as I take in all aspects of a person which includes gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, culture, and race because all parts of what makes you YOU are important in therapy and working together.
I enjoy utilizing talk therapy, mindfulness and mediation exercises, and expressive art therapy in session, but there will also be work done out of session. I will provide you with weekly take home assignments to work in between sessions whether it be from a personalized workbook, worksheet, or an experience/activity to participate in.
This is such an exciting and positive journey that you will be embarking on whether this is your first experience with therapy, or you are seeking out a new therapist. No matter where you fit it is never too early or too late to learn more about who you are and do what you can to live a happier life. I welcome the opportunity to be both a guide and partner in elevating this journey of becoming more fulfilled, discovering new direction, and gaining an overall better life balance.
