🌈 Do you work with neurodivergent children and teens?
Yes. Supporting neurodivergent youth is one of our specialties. Whether your child is diagnosed with ADHD, Level 1 Autism, AuDHD, or is simply wired differently, we honor their uniqueness and offer tools and strategies that work with their brain — not against it.
👋 What happens in the first session?
The first session is a gentle intake — a chance for us to get to know you or your child and your family’s needs. We talk about what’s going well, what’s feeling hard, and what kind of support might help. No pressure, just connection.
🧩 Can parents or caregivers join sessions?
Yes. Especially for younger children, we often include caregivers in the process. For teens, we balance independence with check-ins to keep everyone supported. We encourage a "therapeutic distance" for all sessions. We want to truly become a safe space.
🤝 What is body doubling — and do you offer it?
Body doubling is a focus-support strategy where someone is present (virtually or in person) while your child works — to help with attention, motivation, and follow-through. We offer this as part of our "WonderFocus group" and also in customized support plans. Please let us know how we can support your child with their homework needs.
💡 What if my child is nervous about therapy?
That’s okay. We never push or force. We create a space that feels safe, playful, and pressure-free — so your child can show up at their own pace. Building trust takes time, and that’s something we honor deeply.
🏥 Do you accept insurance?
We are currently in-network with numerous plans. Please see our FEES AND INSURANCE page. We also provide superbills for families who’d like to seek reimbursement in the event we do not accept your plan. Contact us if you need help navigating your options.
💵 Do you accept self-pay? If so, how much?
Session rates vary based on each clinician’s licensure, experience, and area of specialization. Individual, family, couples, and intensive sessions range from $100 to $360. Group therapy rates range from $40 to $75 per session.
🔄 How long will my child need therapy?
Every child’s journey is unique. Some come for short-term support during a stressful time; others benefit from longer-term care. We’ll regularly check in to make sure therapy continues to feel helpful and aligned with your child’s needs.
🧒 Can I meet the therapist before my child starts?
Yes! We’re happy to offer a brief parent consultation or discovery call to help you feel confident and comfortable before the first session.
🗓 How often are sessions?
Most clients attend weekly or biweekly, but we can adjust based on your child’s needs, energy, and availability. Some services (like group or body doubling sessions) follow a specific schedule. Insurance is also a factor in the amount and duration of each session.
👂 Will I get updates about my child’s progress?
Yes — while we respect your child’s confidentiality, we believe in collaborative care. We’ll provide general updates and include you in goal-setting and check-ins when appropriate.
🧘♀️ Do you offer support for anxiety, school stress, or emotional regulation?
Absolutely. These are some of the most common reasons families reach out. We offer evidence-based and body-informed strategies to help kids manage emotions, navigate school challenges, and build resilience.
📚 Do you help with IEPs, 504 Plans, or school accommodations?
Yes. We can collaborate with school teams, offer documentation if appropriate, and help families advocate for supportive accommodations. Just let us know what you need.
🌟 What if my teen doesn’t want to talk?
Totally okay. Therapy doesn’t always start with talking. We use creative tools, nervous system work, and gentle relationship-building to help teens feel safe and open up in their own time.
