Real Talk Topics

Everything Teen Girls Are Actually Dealing With

Hearts & Hangouts covers it all — not just one issue, but the whole messy, complicated experience of being a teen girl today. Here's what comes up in the room.

~

Anxiety & Overwhelm

School pressure, the future, social situations, and the constant feeling that everything is too much at once.

◎

Self-Esteem & Body Image

Learning to like yourself in a world that constantly tells you to be different. We keep it honest and judgment-free.

▣

Social Media & Comparison

The highlight reel, the likes, the feeling of being left out — and how to stop letting a screen tell you your worth.

❋

Friendships & Drama

Falling outs, cliques, loyalty, and how to build friendships that actually feel good instead of exhausting.

⌂

Family & Home Life

Parents, siblings, divorce, blended families — navigating home when it's complicated.

♥

Identity & Finding Yourself

Who am I? Who do I want to be? These are the questions that deserve real space, not quick answers.

◉

Sadness & Low Mood

When everything feels heavy and you don't know why. Learning to feel feelings without being swallowed by them.

★

Goals & Self-Worth

Building confidence that doesn't depend on grades, looks, or other people's opinions of you.

❝

Just Getting It Out

Sometimes you just need a space to say the things you can't say anywhere else. That's always welcome here.

Why Hearts & Hangouts

More Than a Group — A Girls' Tribe

■

A Place to Be Real

Teen girls are constantly performing — for friends, for parents, for social media. Hearts & Hangouts is the one place where the performance stops and the real conversation starts.

◎

Therapist Facilitated

Every session is led by a licensed or pre-licensed master's level therapist who specializes in working with teens. This isn't just peer advice — it's professionally guided support.

★

Skills for Real Life

Girls leave each session with actual tools — coping strategies, communication skills, and confidence-building practices they can use at school, at home, and with friends.

Two Groups — Pick Your Fit

Low-Key. Real Talk. Guaranteed Good Vibes.

Every Hearts & Hangouts session is designed to feel less like a therapy group and more like a really good conversation with people who get it. Sessions are therapist-guided but teen-led in energy.

No one is forced to share. No one is put on the spot. The only rule is that what's said in the room stays in the room.

A Note for Parents

We know trusting a new space with your daughter takes faith. Our therapists are experienced in working with teens, and confidentiality is a core part of what makes this group safe. We're happy to answer any questions before enrollment — call us at 770-224-7245.

  • 1

    Warm Welcome & Check-In

Every session starts with a low-pressure check-in — a way to say "here's where I'm at today" without being put on the spot.

  • 2

    Therapist-Guided Topic

Your facilitator introduces a theme or skill for the week — something relevant to what teen girls are actually navigating.

  • 3

    Group Discussion & Sharing

Open conversation. Hear from other girls. Share if you want. Always optional, always respected.

  • 4

    Real Takeaways

Every session ends with something to hold onto — a strategy, a reframe, or just the reminder that you're not alone in this.

  • 5

    Strict Confidentiality

All members agree to group confidentiality before joining. What's shared in Hearts & Hangouts stays in Hearts & Hangouts.

FAQ

Questions From Parents & Teens

Does my daughter need a diagnosis to join?
No — Hearts & Hangouts is open to any teen girl ages 13–17. You don't need a diagnosis, a referral, or prior therapy experience. If she's going through something hard, there's a place for her here.
Will she have to talk if she doesn't want to?
Never. Sharing is always optional. Many girls find it helpful just to listen at first and open up more over time. Our facilitators never put anyone on the spot.
Is what she shares kept private from me as a parent?
Group confidentiality applies to all members. As with individual therapy, there are legal exceptions — if your daughter discloses that she's in danger or plans to hurt herself or someone else, we are required to act. Outside of those situations, confidentiality is honored. This is what makes the group a safe space for teens to actually open up.
Can she attend both the in-person and virtual group?
Yes — she can attend either group each week depending on her schedule. Both groups are $30/session drop-in, so she can mix and match as needed.
When do the groups meet?
We're finalizing the schedule now! Call us at 770-224-7245 or use the Enroll Now button below to get into our system and be the first to know when dates are set. Spots are limited.
How do we get started?
Call us at 770-224-7245, email [email protected], or click Enroll Now below. We'll complete a brief intake for your daughter and get her set up before her first session.
